Carriage of dangerous goods is a very specific type of transport operation. Due to their properties such as flammability, explosiveness or corrosivity, these substances can endanger the safety of persons, property or the environment during transport. That is why the European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) has been concluded. It defines and classifies the dangerous substances and articles according their properties, sets out the conditions of carriage, packaging and labelling and prescribes the use and completion of necessary accompanying documents. It also provides technical requirements for vehicle and equipment in case of an accident and requirements for training and testing of drivers.
